21-03-05 Update on experiments.

This was the last 700 PE 160 I had and the last of two that I waited 4 months for so blowing it was a real sad moment. I had to open it to see the damage, remember this is rated up to 720 Amps and 1600 Volts.

Now who said bigger isn't better, more expensive but definitely better. These two Thyristors have arrived to replace the 700 PE 160's (In Front). These 1700 PK 160's are rated at 1700 Amps and 1600 Volts. I have to thank Mouser Electronics for their superb service and speed of delivery by UPS.

I really hope I don't blow these Thyristors as they cost $500 Aus dollars including freight.
